Giugno (June,) the poem of the month

Today, we are happy to present a poem (originally in Italian, although its English version already appeared in a previous post of LiteraryJoint) inspired by the sweet month of June ("Giugno," indeed.)

For our English language readers, "June" is part of the collection Jersey Blues, also available on iBookstore and NOOK Book. For Italian language readers, "Giugno" was originally published in the collection Icarus, and also available as both printed and e-book versions.)

Olijfbomen met gele hemel en zon - Olive Trees with yellow sky and sun, by Vincent van Gogh, Saint-Rémy, 1889

Giugno

Odorano i campi ignudi
nel sole basso rosseggiante
nel vento carezzevole come una madre.

Fiuto la giovane estate
bambinesca ipotesi di donna.

Freme la tua mano nella mia
e il tuo riso è un lieve
sussurro che non trova pace.
